I am a denim fiend. I wear jeans nearly every day so naturally my denim style has evolved over the years. I used to be all about the low rise, now every pair is high rise. I was once a strictly skinny jean girl and now I love a good relaxed fit. Some of my all time favorite denim brands are Mother, J Brand and Paige. Lately though, all I ever shop for are Levi’s. They have a classic, structured, real denim fit that is obviously very much in style right now. They also have such a wide range of wash’s and fits and they give that real vintage look and feel without having to break the bank.
Pro tip: Sign up for the newsletter on Levis.com because I feel like they are ALWAYS having some sort of sitewide sale.
A few of my favorite styles…
1. The Wedgie
These are my ultimate favorite. They are so flattering on the behind, as you may have guessed, and come in a variety of fits. Don’t let the name fool you, they are so comfortable and definitely do not give you that true wedgie feel. I have a few pairs now but my favorite are the relaxed, distressed, 100% cotton ones in the color Kiss Off. They go great with a simple t-shirt or a silky cami and heels for a night out. These are definitely true to size, however, when you try them on for the first time they will feel incredibly tight but don’t fret, I promise they stretch out A LOT.
2. The 501
This is probably their most popular style currently. It’s a straight leg fit and I wear mine cropped above the ankle which is about a 28 inch inseam for me (I’m 5’7). They call it their “Classic Fit” on the website for a reason. The 501’s have been in style for years and if you’re shopping for vintage denim you will most likely find some amazing 501 gems. This is a fit you can definitely invest in because they will be in style forever. The 501’s are also true to size…keep an eye out in the description for 100% cotton vs cotton/lycra blend. The difference is that the 100% cotton will have zero stretch and feel very thick while the lycra blend will give you that stretchy denim feel and usually be a little thinner.
3. The 505
I have a pair of 505-C’s in my normal size and I love them but you have to be careful when buying these. I bought a second pair and they did not fit the same, unfortunately. I love the pair I do have though, they are more of a relaxed fit compared to the straight leg fit of the 501. Just be prepared to either buy two sizes (I’d suggest your size and the size up) and return whichever doesn’t fit or take a shot in the dark and hope the size you choose is the right one. Usually the reviews on the site are pretty accurate and can help you determine the proper sizing.
4. Mom Jeans
Now these are the newest addition to my closet and I’m already in love. Although they are called “Mom Jeans” they really aren’t as baggy or relaxed as your typical mom jean. That is unless you have no curves and are a stick thin runway model. If you have any sort of booty these are so flattering! I normally wear a 25 in all Levi’s and I ended up getting a 24 in these because I wanted them to fit a little more snug. They are pretty high waisted and have a more relaxed fit so you should size down if you want a snug fit and go with your normal size if you want the true mom jean look.
I’ve linked all of these styles in the the Shop Style Collective bar below!
You can never have too many cute jeans, right??? 😉
